LED down lights

Why LEDs?

The choice is simple, here are three reasons why:

  • The running temperature of halogen lamps can be in excess of 250 degrees Celsius. High temperatures combined with insulation or leaves may set your premises on fire. LEDs have a running temperature typically between 55 and 85 degrees Celsius.

  • Old halogen down lights are rated at 55 Watts where as LEDs typically range from 4.5 to 14 Watts and offer more Lumens per Watt than a halogen lamp.  In summary they cost you less and give you more light.

  • At best you will only get up to 2000 hours out of old halogens compared to the life span of up to 30,000 hours or more for LEDs.
